The Bitter End. Saba Rock. Eustatia. An overwater spa. The legendary North Sound of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands is now home to the newest, most unique overwater spa in the Caribbean.
It’s called Sundara Spa + Studio, and it’s a full-fledged overwater spa with panoramic views and glass floor panels set just off the coast from the Oil Nut Bay community on Virgin Gorda.
Sundara is actually flexible, with two treatment rooms along with space that can be used for yoga, pilates or meditation.
It’s the “perfect retreat for anyone looking to unwind in a peaceful sanctuary,” the resort says.
Yes, there’s a glass bottom floor.
The spa is using products by global brand VOYA, which hails from Ireland. It’s a range of skincare products made from certified organic seaweed.
So what about the spa menu? There’s a bit of everything from a “deep tissue muscle melter” to a seaweed leaf wrap to face rituals with LED masks. There’s also a slate of beauty and “glam” options like waxing, lashes and brows and haircuts for men and women.
It’s a rare overwater spa in the region, one where you can lie on your massage table and look straight down into the ocean.

It’s the best view you’ll ever get for a treatment.
Oil Nut Bay has a range of suites and spectacular luxury villas in its private resort community. Rates right now start at $950 per night for a “bay suite” with a king bed.
We like the modern cliff suites, which are built right into cliffs overlooking the southern part of the island, which go for about $1,350 per night.
The new addition to Virgin Gorda comes as the British Virgin Islands is in the midst of a renewed visitor surge, as we reported.
