A beachfront home in the Caribbean, owned by former New Hampshire governor John Lynch, is on the market for $15.9 million.
The 6,000-square-foot home is on the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. As reported in the Wall Street Journal, Lynch and his wife, retired pediatrician Dr. Susan Lynch, put their home on the market because they want to spend more time traveling.
Lynch was the governor of New Hampshire from 2005 to 2013.
“I have mixed feelings about selling, but we don’t use it as much as we could,” Lynch told the Journal.
Located in Oil Nut Bay, a luxury resort on the island’s eastern tip, the six-bedroom home is fully furnished, according to Roz Colthart, director of real estate for Corcoran BVI, which is listing the property.
Oil Nut Bay can be reached only by boat or helicopter, and residents and guests use golf carts to get around. (The home comes with two of them).
There are two master bedrooms and four guest suites, each with an outdoor shower and separate entrance. With an infinity pool and easy access to the bay, the property is a “beautiful family getaway” that offers “lavish beachfront living at its best,” the listing states.
“Vaulted ceilings preside over a gourmet kitchen with central island and breakfast bar as well as an elegant Great Room with twin flat-screen TVs,” the listing states. “The home also features a chef’s kitchen, home gym, and laundry room. Sliding doors lead to an expansive verandah with sparkling infinity pool, dedicated sunbathing and shaded lounging areas, a grill, and an outdoor dining table.”
The property features a private path to the beach.
“Take a stroll across the manicured lawn directly to the pristine, white-sand beach and protected bay beyond,” the listing states.
