While Election Day is still a couple of months away, this island retreat has our vote! John Lynch, the former governor of New Hampshire, is selling his lush villa in the British Virgin Islands resort community of Oil Nut Bay. Lynch has listed the picturesque spot with Roz Colthart of Corcoran BVI for $15.9 million, so it will take a well-to-do buyer to make an offer.
The now-71-year-old served as governor of “The Granite State” from 2005 until 2013, was once the CEO of Knoll, Inc. (did you know that the current CEO of Knoll listed his Shelter Island abode in 2021?), and has three children. Like anyone in retirement, there’s no debating that having a warm weather getaway like this has been a treat for Lynch and his family. After all, who wouldn’t want a beach escape from New Hampshire’s frigid winters? And, it isn’t easy to part with such a special home. In July, Lynch told the Wall Street Journal, “I have mixed feelings about selling, but we don’t use it as much as we could.”
The 6,000-square-foot retreat sits among other impressive properties and is surrounded by the tropical beauty of Virgin Gorda. The floor plan includes six bedrooms, two of which are primary suites. The grounds feature an infinity pool, expansive patio, gardens, and incredible ocean views.
Last summer, a striking and sustainable residence in Oil Nut Bay listed for $27.5 million, so whoever elects to drop $15.9 million on Bella Beach Villa will be in good company.
