Boating at sailing at Oil Nut Bay is one of our most popular activities. Virgin Gorda is one of the Caribbean’s most exclusive and luxurious islands, but its most impressive amenity is definitely the calm teal water that surrounds it. Adventurous residents, guests, and visitors get the full waterfront experience by taking advantage of dozens of aquatic activities, both provided by ONB staff and based in Virgin Gorda and the British Virgin Islands. Sailing and boating opportunities range from guided excursions and lessons to private rentals and annual races.

Yachting and Boating from a World-Class Marina

Thanks to its remote location, boating is the way of life at Oil Nut Bay. It’s only natural that the island would have its own marina village, which is brand new and hosts many of the island’s staffed aquatic events. Located on the North Sound, up to 92 vessels and crafts may dock at this sustainable and convenient facility. 38 of its slips may accommodate mega yachts up to 300 feet long, and 88 will accommodate boats up to 100 feet long. There’s also a floating dinghy dock available for short-term use.

Sightseeing, Sailing and Snorkeling Tours

Oil Nut Bay residents may charter a boat to nearby islands to board chartered tours or hire locals to pick them up. The most popular local tours include snorkeling and diving excursions, which take advantage of everything from reefs just off the ONB shore to shipwrecks and caves throughout the British Virgin Islands.

Staff members include guides and instructors with years of local experience, as well as captains who are available for private swims, dives, and snorkeling sessions. Glass-bottomed boats let families see Caribbean creatures up close, Hobie Cat sailing excursions range from sunset cruises to snorkeling tours, windsurfing or snorkeling.

With boating activities both on and near the island itself, it’s easy for every resident to explore, relax, and play at Oil Nut Bay. From chartered catamaran day tours to five-day sailing regattas, the aquatic possibilities seem as endless as that distinctive blue horizon.
