GETTING TO OIL NUT BAY

Getting to Oil Nut Bay is a unique experience and can be an enjoyable part of your vacation in itself. No matter where you're coming from, there are many options to get to Oil Nut Bay. On the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda, Oil Nut Bay is accessible only by boat or helicopter. Traveling by air or sea through the local islands provides a fantastic way to appreciate the beauty of the region.

TRAVELING FROM NORTH AMERICA

CYRIL E. KING AIRPORT

If you are coming from North America, you can get to the BVI by connecting through the Cyril E. King International Airport in St. Thomas (STT). From St. Thomas, there are several ways to get to the BVI:

1. You can take a local airline carrier to Tortola. Once in Tortola, we can arrange your transportation from the airport to the ferry dock (5 minutes) and private ferry transfer (35-45 minutes) to Oil Nut Bay for $110 per person one way with a minimum of two passengers, not to exceed $550 for groups of 5 or more.

2. You can take a local airline carrier to Virgin Gorda. We can arrange a taxi (20 minutes) from the airport to the North Sound, where a private Oil Nut Bay boat would meet you to bring you to the property.

3. You can charter a private plane from St. Thomas to either Tortola or Virgin Gorda.

4. You can charter a helicopter to fly you directly to Oil Nut Bay (approximately 15 minute flight).

5. You can take a seaplane to the North Sound, where a private Oil Nut Bay boat would meet you to bring you to the property.

6. You can take a public ferry to Virgin Gorda (direct ferries are limited and otherwise connect through Tortola, please check for details). Once in Virgin Gorda, we can arrange a taxi from the ferry dock to the North Sound, where we would arrange for our private boat to take you to Oil Nut Bay.

TERRANCE B. LETTSOME INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

If you’re coming from North America, you can get to the BVI by connecting through San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU), and then take a local airline carrier to Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) on Tortola. Once in Tortola, these are your options for getting to Oil Nut Bay:

1. We can arrange your transportation from the airport to the ferry dock (5 min) and private ferry transfer (35-45 min) to Oil Nut Bay for $110 per person one way with a minimum of two passengers, not to exceed $550 for groups of 5 or more.

2. You can charter a helicopter to fly you directly to Oil Nut Bay (approximately 10 minute flight).

Coming this fall, fly direct from Miami to Tortola’s Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport - just a short two and a half hour flight for US travelers, bypassing the usual need for stopovers in Puerto Rico or St. Thomas.

VIRGIN GORDA AIRPORT

If you’re coming from North America, you can get to the BVI by connecting through San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU), and then take a local airline carrier to Virgin Gorda (VIJ). Once you arrive into Virgin Gorda, these are your options for getting to Oil Nut Bay:

1. Upon arrival to VIJ, a taxi representative will greet and usher you to the Gun Creek ferry dock (20 minute taxi). From there, it is a 15 minute ferry to ONB. Prices vary based on number of guests.

2. You can charter a helicopter to fly you directly to Oil Nut Bay (approximately 5 minute flight).

TRAVELING FROM EUROPE

There are limited flight options from Europe through St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.











TERRANCE B. LETTSOME INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

If you’re coming from Europe, you can get to the BVI by connecting through Antigua (ANU), St. Martin (SXM), or San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and then take a local airline carrier to Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport (EIS) on Tortola. Once in Tortola, these are your options for getting to Oil Nut Bay:

1. We can arrange your transportation from the airport to the ferry dock (5 min) and private ferry transfer to Oil Nut Bay (35-45 min) for $110 per person one way with a minimum of two passengers, not to exceed $550 for groups of 5 or more.

2. You can charter a helicopter to fly you directly to Oil Nut Bay (approximately 10 minute flight).

VIRGIN GORDA AIRPORT

FERRY SCHEDULES

Oil Nut Bay offers scheduled ferry transfers between North Sound locations between 6:30 am and 11:00 pm. Transfer are $20 per person, round trip.

For BVI ferry schedules from St Thomas and Tortola please contact us and we will be pleased to assist. Please note that the BVI ferry schedule sometimes alters depending on the season.
